Fans of the Real Housewives of Atlanta were dealt a crushing blow just days after filming began on Season 16. Like her or not, the fabulous queen of “Gone with the Wind” Kenya Moore was fired from the show. The news came quickly and abruptly, with mixed messages from both sides. But now we’re going to break down everything you need to know about the firing of a Real Housewives icon and what this could mean for the upcoming season.
Kenya gets suspended
In early June, multiple media outlets reported on Kenya’s suspension after her Kenya Moore Hair Spa event went awry. The suspensions reportedly came after Kenya used posters as decorations featuring images of newcomers Brittany Eady performing oral sex on a mystery man, a source said at the time Entertainment tonight that the photos were ‘reportedly found online’.
At the same time, Kenya raised concerns about a gun threat Brittany made before her event. Bravo investigated the former Miss USA’s claim but found no evidence. The source clarified to the outlet, “Kenya was never threatened with a gun, nor was there ever a gun present during production.”
Brittany responds
During the same period of her suspension, Brittany shared on her Instagram Story, “It’s never a good feeling to be targeted or bullied by SOMEONE who I thought would welcome me into a new circle that I’ve never met.” In a second post, the newest peach cited Georgia state law. The rookie wrote, “In Georgia, distributing sexually explicit material with the consent of the person depicted is a criminal offense. Violating the Georgia revenge porn law is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $1,000, imprisonment for up to one year, or both.”
Kenya speaks out

Shortly after the incident, Kenya posted a statement on X defending herself. The mother of one wrote, “I would never use revenge porn. I have never distributed private photos or images of anyone, nor have I requested images from others to threaten or blackmail. I have always been exonerated. I cannot talk about STORY even with people spreading fake news #sweet16.”
Kenya is fired
Kenya was officially released in late June, a source said LoveBScott“It was clear that Kenya was doing everything she could to thwart her. Those photos are not easily accessible on the internet… otherwise they would be circulating now. Not only did she get the photos from somewhere, she had posters made. That’s not something you would do to someone who allegedly threatened you with a gun.”
With a new Bravo code of conductthe network decided that Kenya had violated the new contract. Another source told the outlet, “Bravo never accused Kenya of revenge porn. That was never what the investigation was about. It was about determining whether Kenya’s actions with sexually explicit images violated the code of conduct — and they did. She can point fingers all she wants, but she has no one to blame but herself.”
Kenya has the final say
After the official news of her firing went out, Kenya posted a statement and tagged herself in “Peace of mind” just for good measure. Kenya commented, “Thank you for all the support #teamtwirl. My heart is full and my conscience is clear. So many false claims hiding behind anonymous sources. All these conversations and no facts being reported. If a claim or source was valid, would they be hiding?”
Kenya also shared, “My life is blessed. My daughter and I will continue to thrive in a non-toxic environment where we feel valued and most importantly protected. ***The rumors and story about me randomly posting nudes or revenge photos are 1000% false. I have proof and will share it soon.”
Real Housewives of Atlanta fans are waiting with bated breath for the evidence, but until then, it looks like this is the last we’ll see of Ms. Kenya Moore. For now, the network has decided to continue filming, but has not yet said whether they will film Kenya’s few early episodes.
