Bed Bath & Beyond is opening stores again, but this time in Mexico.

The new stores are part of a new global licensing program, according to Beyond Inc., the home retailer’s parent company. “Negotiations are underway for stores in other key markets around the world,” Beyond said of store plans for more stores in the future.

Beyond is launching a global licensing program called Bed Bath & Beyond. “The program will be international in scope and is designed to bring the brand to consumers in multiple ways,” the company said.

One of the first licensees to sign is a category license with PEM America, a manufacturer of home textiles. The license includes fashion bedding, utility bedding, sheets, bath linens and accessories, and window and soft home décor.

“We are thrilled to bring the beloved Bed Bath & Beyond brand back to life in this new and exciting way,” said Marcus Lemonis, executive chairman of Beyond. “Through affordable, quality products that will soon be on store shelves both in-store and online, we are reinvigorating the brand and bringing it back to its core. The Bed Bath & Beyond brand is both aspirational and achievable, and our brand will continue to reflect those values.”

While Beyond is starting with its main home banner, the licensing program would also include Overstock and Zulily brands, and in the future also other brands that supply directly to the consumer.

Beyond, formerly Overstock.com prior to its name change, has acquired certain assets, including intellectual property rights, from Bankrupt Bed Bath & Beyond for $21.5 million in June 2023. That acquisition included the Wamsutta home textiles brand. In April 2024, Beyond sold the Wamsutta brand to Indo Count for $10.25 million. A regulatory filing at the time said the sale of Wamsutta allowed Beyond to recoup 48 percent of Bed Bath & Beyond’s $21.5 million purchase price.

Meanwhile, the Zulily flash-sale platform is up and running. Beyond acquired the brand last March for $4.5 million.

As for the platform, a message on the site said that Zulily is starting small, giving its “very best customers” a “tiny taste of what’s to come” as it rebuilds the Zulily community. The site also has a promise for its customers: “Coming soon: a much bigger and better Zu!”
