A Remembrance Day memorial has been inundated with poppy donations from around the world, organizers say.
In June, the Royal British Legion (RBL) called on people in Skegness to make flowers for an exhibition around the town’s landmark clock tower.
Since the campaign began, volunteers said they had received creations from as far away as Hong Kong, Bermuda and Canada.
The RBL’s Tracey Turner said the response to the idea had been “incredible”.
She added: “They have come in droves. Holidaymakers have brought them with them, the local community really supports them.
“The whole thing is breathtaking.”
The group said it has enough poppies for six nets of nine square meters, which will be placed on the roundabout at Tower Esplanade.
The poppies can be seen for a month from the second week of October.
Several volunteers worked on the exhibition at the Hildred Center in Skegness. One woman described saying, “Thank you as she placed each poppy.”
She added: “Each copy represents a generation that has died and even though there are thousands, this does not cover the number of people we have all lost.
“It is so important for us to remember and pay our respects.”
