American aerospace giant Boeing has opened new technical locations in the Polish capital Warsaw, in Gdańsk and in Rzeszów.

The sites are intended to support the company’s strategic focus and will find work across its portfolio of commercial aircraft, defense systems and R&D projects.

Boeing has said it plans to create hundreds of new jobs at the sites, in addition to the 1,100 employees it already has in Poland. The roles will focus on structural and manufacturing engineering, software and systems engineering, commercial support and defense and service programs.

The Rzeszów base is Boeing’s main technical location in Poland and hosts a wide range of technical activities, as well as some customer support. The Gdańsk location focuses on systems and avionics engineering and the Warsaw location specializes in production engineering and materials testing.

Linda Hapgood, vice president of Boeing Engineering in Poland and Ukraine, said: “Boeing is committed to building a strong and long-lasting engineering presence in Poland. Opening a new engineering center in Poland was a logical step for us, as many of our customers are based here, including industrial partners, academic partners and research partners, including the esteemed Lukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation. The most important thing is that we have found here the necessary skills needed for our technical projects.”

Boeing has been active in Poland for 35 years. In addition to technical activities, it has offices for Boeing Defense, Space & Security in Warsaw; Boeing Digital Solutions & Analytics in Gdańsk; and parts and distribution services in Rzeszów.
