TOKYO — Toyota Motor Corp And BMW plan to upgrade their partnership in fuel cell vehicles, Nikkei Asia reported on Tuesday.
The two automakers will sign a letter of intent on the partnership next week, with an official announcement scheduled for September 5, Nikkei Asia reported.
A Toyota A spokesman said the Nikkei report was not based on an announcement by the company. He declined to comment further.
A BMW spokesman said the information in the media report was not based on an announcement by the BMW Group.
“The BMW Group and Toyota Motor Corporation have been working together on fuel cells and other technologies for several years with the common goal of providing a new zero-emission mobility solution,” the BMW spokesman said.
