Locations across the street Europe and as far away as Japan have been named as the best value for money places to fly to Great Britain departure prices drop.

Destinations around the world have seen a drop in their flight prices this year due to a combination of factors such as airlines launching new routes that open up these destinations for the first time and/or increasing the frequency of flights from low-cost airlines.

The highest value destinations have been calculated based on the percentage drop in price for return economy class flights booked from the UK between January 1, 2024 and June 30, 2024 for travel during 2024 and compared to the same period in 2023

into Okinawa Japan has also seen a 39 percent drop in flight prices, giving British travelers the chance to visit the southern Japan prefecture and explore its rich landscape of natural beauty, castle ruins and heritage sites, far from the metropolitan hustle and bustle of the biggest cities of the country.

Tirana is known for its vibrant nightlife, architectural sights such as the Pyramid of Tirana and exceptional Albanian food culture, but it is also a short distance from the Ionian Riviera coastline, which is dotted with charming villages and budget hotels.

While Skyscanner says that while many Britons continue to prioritize traveling abroad, the impact of the rising cost of living in Britain means budgeting remains a key factor when choosing a travel destination.

The cost of flights and how much hotels will cost a traveler per night are the top determining factors when choosing a holiday destination for almost half (47 percent) of the 20,000 Skyscanner surveys worldwide.

Price isn’t the only factor, as food (54 percent), natural scenery (49 percent) and culture (44 percent) will also influence where a traveler flies.

Naomi Hahn, vice president of strategy at Skyscanner, said: “Skype’s Travel Trends report shows that 2025 will be the year of collective travel experiences. More than ever, travelers are increasingly seeking travel experiences that foster community and collective discovery.

“We see a range of experiences and interests, ranging from sports to astrology, as well as arts and culture, bringing people together for a shared adventure.

“However, the cost of living remains a top priority, and our money-saving tools continue to grow in popularity. Our ‘Everywhere’ search, which shows prices from lowest to highest, from airports to global destinations, continues to be one of the top search destinations for travelers worldwide this year.”
