Good news for that Toyota Supra fans: the sports car’s iconic nameplate is sticking around for the foreseeable future. While you’re talking to Car expert, Toyota Australia Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley confirmed the Supra ‘brand’ isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. However, he was a little fuzzy on whether this meant the continuation of this model or if the Supra name would stick around for future models.
“There is no plan to discontinue the Supra brand at this car company. I know that,” Hanley said.
While that’s a bit vague, Hanley did say that just because BMW could finish the Z4 – the Supra’s mechanical twin – in 2026 doesn’t mean Toyota will also finish the Supra. He also didn’t specifically say that this won’t be the case. “BMW is not Toyota. The idea of Supra shutting down is purely speculative,” he said. “And honestly, as I sit here today, I have no expectation that the Supra brand will disappear. Not at all.”
