Former Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe is facing serious legal trouble following his trip to Sweden last week, where he visited a nightclub on the night France secured a UEFA Nations League win over Israel.
Swedish media outlet Express reported On Monday, Swedish police investigated Kylian Mbappé after an accusation of rape. The 25-year-old French attacker is accused of rape and sexual abuse during his trip to Stockholm last week.
Mbappé is being investigated on “reasonable suspicion” of sexual abuse, a charge considered at the lower end of the scale within the Swedish legal system.
The report stated that Mbappé had dinner at Chez Jolie, a restaurant in Stockholm’s chic Östermalm district, before heading to a nearby nightclub called “V.”
Express A police report also shows that the alleged assault occurred on Thursday, October 10. Two days later a report was filed with the police.
“This is a case that is now being led by a prosecutor,” said police spokesman Daniel Wikdahl. “I will not comment further, but would rather refer to the public prosecutor’s office.”
