Russia has suspended flights at three of Moscow’s four international airports after Ukraine carried out a massive drone attack overnight.
Russian officials said they shot down 144 drones in the attack, including 20 over Moscow.
The State news agency Tassquoting from the Federal Air Transport AgencyAccording to Rosaviatsia, about 50 flights were diverted from three international airports.
The airports — Domodedovo, Zhukovsky and Vnukovo — have now resumed operations, the report said.
According to the Financial TimesSome flights were also suspended at Kazan airport in central Russia.
Rosaviatsia did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Moscow Governor Andrei Vorobyov said one woman was killed in the Ramenskoye district after drones set fire to several apartments and damaged at least two high-rise apartment buildings, according to Sky News.
Alexander Li, an eyewitness to the fires, said Reuters He saw a window “being blown out by the shock wave.”
Ukrainian officials have not yet commented on the attack.
It comes after Russia has recently carried out several attacks on cities in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force placed on Telegram that it had hit 38 of the 46 drones that Russia fired at the projectile on Tuesday.
The drones were shot down over several regions, including the Ukrainian capital Kiev, but also Odessa and Kharkov.
Ukraine has accelerated domestic production of drones in recent years.
