The Israeli military said on Wednesday it was continuing its operations in the Gaza Strip and had also successfully attacked groups of militants in Gaza City.

On Tuesday, troops killed dozens of terrorists in the city’s northern Shejaiya district, an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman wrote on X.

According to the report, Israeli forces destroyed underground tunnel routes here, while troops in the center of the coastal strip attacked and killed several members of the Palestinian militant organization Hamas.

Operations also continued in the city of Rafah in the southern Palestinian Territory.

“Over the past day, forces neutralized several terrorists, located weapons and dismantled terrorist infrastructure in the area,” the Israeli military said.

An operation was also carried out at night targeting members of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), who were said to have been operating from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) centre in Gaza City.

The information could not initially be independently verified.

At least 52 Palestinians have been killed in four Israeli attacks in the Strip in the past 24 hours, according to the Hamas-controlled health authority in Gaza.

At least 38,295 people have been killed and 88,241 wounded since the war began in October last year, health officials said.

The figures, which do not distinguish between civilians and fighters, could also not be independently verified.
