The recent floods in the German state of Bavaria have affected voters for the European Parliament elections, with some polling stations forced to relocate and there are reports of lost voting documents.
Bavarian state election official Thomas Gössl said town halls were not yet usable in some affected regions. That is why provisional municipal councils have been set up.
However, conversations with election officials in these areas have shown that the elections can proceed smoothly.
According to Gössl, voters who have lost or not received their voting documents due to the floods should immediately contact their local government to request and collect new documents.
Gössl said new voting cards could still be issued in Bavaria until noon (1000 GMT) on Saturday.
