Vietnamese automaker VinFast Auto continued the global launch of its latest entry-level battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, the VF3 mini SUV. The model is now available in the Philippines.
VinFast began accepting orders for the VF3 in Vietnam in May, with the model being offered at an introductory price of VND235m (US$9,547) without a battery subscription and VND315m ($12,800) with a battery. According to the company, this is less than half the price of the cheapest gasoline car available on the Vietnamese market at the time.
The automaker expects to sell at least 20,000 VF3s in the domestic market by the end of the year, with deliveries beginning in August.
Sales of the VF3 began earlier this month in the Philippines, with an introductory price of PHP605,000 ($10,840) excluding battery and PHP705,000 ($12,620) with battery.
It is powered by a 19kWh battery, which can be charged from 10% to 70% in 35 minutes, and a 32kW electric motor. It has a range of 210 km.
The VF3 comes with a seven-year/160,000km warranty, while the battery comes with an eight-year unlimited mileage warranty.
