Vallourec, a French supplier of tubular solutions, reported on Wednesday that it has won a contract from TotalEnergies to supply nearly 5,000 tonnes of Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) solutions and associated services for the deepwater Kaminho project in Block 20, 100 km offshore Angola.
Vallourec supplies the VAM brand range of connections and uses CLEANWELL, the more environmentally friendly solution without doping.
Pipe lubricant is a thread lubricant, thread sealant or anaerobic chemical sealant used to make threaded connections in pipes leak-proof and pressure-tight.
Offshore and onshore operators have embraced dope-free technology, a dry multi-layer coating that offers advantages over doped technology. The dry coating does not require reapplication after repeated disconnects and reconnects and offers more consistent makeup performance.
The Group will also offer its offshore expertise through VAM field service and its tubular management services offering. This includes managing the inspection and preparation of tubulars before they leave for the rig and upon their return to the storage area.
The products are produced in Vallourec factories in France, Brazil and Indonesia.
