Two people have been killed and three others wounded in fresh Israeli airstrikes on two villages in southern Lebanon, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said on Sunday.

The Israeli military (IDF) has not yet released details of the attacks.

Meanwhile, Lebanon’s Hezbollah militia claimed responsibility for launching drone strikes into northern Israel as both sides exchanged heavy fire for hours. It was the longest-range attack by the Shiite militia since the renewed conflict with Israel nearly a year ago.

According to the Israeli military, most of the rockets fired by Hezbollah that night were intercepted. However, Israeli aid workers reported that there were injuries.

Since Saturday afternoon, the Israeli army has been carrying out attacks on hundreds of Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.
