At least 20 people have been killed and more than 50 wounded in a wave of Russian missile attacks in Ukraine, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said on Monday.

Kiev was one of the hardest hit cities, along with Kryvyi Rih in southern Ukraine.

A major children’s hospital in Kiev was also hit, President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

The Russian military has fired cruise missiles and several Kinzhal hypersonic missiles at targets in the city of 3 million people, the Ukrainian air force said.

Residents in central Kiev heard two dozen explosions, believed to be the result of anti-aircraft missiles. Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said debris fell in four districts of the city.
