Tropical Atlantic comes to life; Beryl remains a very dangerous Category 4 hurricane as Tropical Storm Chris forms off the Mexican coast

Beryl is expected to remain an extremely dangerous major hurricane. Potentially catastrophic hurricane-force winds, life-threatening storm surge, and destructive waves are expected as Beryl moves across parts of the Windward Islands.

Heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Chris

From the National Weather Service

RAINFALL: Tropical Storm Chris is expected to bring a total of 4 to 8 inches of rain to parts of eastern Mexico through Monday. Maximum rainfall of about 30 centimeters is possible in the higher elevations of the Mexican states of Guanajuato, Querétaro and San Luis Potosí. This rainfall will lead to flooding and mudslides in higher areas.
