ELMIRA, NY(WHAT) – Some parts of the Twin Tiers saw flurries earlier in the day. But is it normal for snow to fall so early?

On Sunday we saw a low pressure system move into the region along with rain and wind. The system came from Canada, so it was already cool when it reached the area. That’s why we went from the mid 60s on Saturday to the lower 50s on Monday.

Trick or Treat at Dunn Field returns to Elmira for a second year

The past few nights we have had low temperatures that dropped to above thirty degrees. This is cold, but not far from normal, now thirty-nine degrees.

Here in the area we have actually only seen showers. So there is no measurable snowfall yet.
But we believe there has been measurable snowfall this early in the past previous reports using data from the National Weather Service.
