BERLIN (AP) — A technical problem with German air traffic control caused disruptions Friday, with some flights canceled at Frankfurt airport, the country’s largest.
Air traffic control company DFS said the problem, which occurred on Friday morning, affected flight plans and weather data. The problem was resolved by 10:30 am, but caused delays of varying severity across the country.
Frankfurt Airport warned on its website that flight delays and cancellations could be expected throughout the day.
Operator Fraport said around 70 flights had been canceled but did not expect many more as the data problem had been resolved, German news agency dpa reported. The country’s largest airline, Lufthansa, said there were some cancellations and delays but long-haul services were not affected.
