The suspect in the knife attack in Solingen has been transferred to Karlsruhe to appear before the investigating judge.

The German Federal Court of Justice (BGH) in Karlsruhe must decide whether the man will remain in pre-trial detention for, among other things, membership of the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) and murder.

Due to suspicions of terrorist motives, the competent authority, the German Federal Court of Justice, has taken over the investigation into the 26-year-old Syrian.

The man is suspected of killing three people and wounding several others in a knife attack in the western German city of Solingen on Friday evening.

The alleged perpetrator of the knife attack in Solingen is taken by helicopter to a convoy to be brought to the investigating judge of the Bundesgerichtshof (BGH), who will decide on an arrest warrant. Several people were killed and injured in a knife attack on Friday evening at the city festival celebrating the 650th anniversary of the city of Solingen.
