Despite the debate between the Jeep crowd and the new Bronco Ownerswe already know that Ford’s SUV is the real deal. Still, it’s pretty amazing to see a stolen Bronco run over a police car in Canada after the suspected driver was cornered, showing off his rock-crawling skills in a dark manner.
A famous NFL player loves the Broncos.
The incident recently took place in the Toronto area and it has shocked people. How often do you see vehicles crawling over a police car?
Using those big tires, which are perfect for off-road adventures, the suspect was able to coax the Ford over the hood of a Dodge Charger Pursuit, all the way up to the windshield and roof. Considering how low the front of those Mopars sit to the ground, that’s not all that surprising, even if it is a little jarring to watch happen.
What the Bronco couldn’t overcome was another police car parked a little further back. That one, a Dodge Durango, was too high for the SUV to climb onto, preventing it from proceeding any further.
The police were able to arrest the driver.
The Bronco had reportedly been stolen from a nearby store parking lot a few weeks ago. The owner spotted it, called police, and they converged on the Ford in a Tim Horton’s drive-through.
What’s really stupid is that this suspect could have backed up a bit and driven over a little grass island that wouldn’t have even been a speed bump for the rig. Instead, he probably panicked, hit the gas, and drove over the one cop car.
Instead, a third unit arrived and held the Bronco, preventing the suspect from escaping. As a result, we got some wild video footage and the police caught their man.
