Sharks test positive for cocaine: researchers

(WJW) – Sharks off the coast of Brazil have tested positive for cocaine.

That’s according to marine biologists who published a study in “Science of the total environment.”

Thirteen sharpnose sharks were tested.

The study found that the livers and muscles of all the sharks tested positive for high concentrations of cocaine.

The scientists aptly named the study “Cocaine Shark.”

According to BBCExperts suspect that the cocaine ends up in the water via illegal drug labs.

It is not known whether the cocaine changes the sharks’ behavior.
