KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (KMID/KPEJ) – A woman is still missing after she fell into a sinkhole that formed on a sidewalk in Kuala Lumpur’s Jalan Masjid India area on Friday morning.
Photos from the Kuala Lumpur Fire Department showed search and rescue efforts still underway late Friday night. The woman, a 48-year-old Indian national, is believed to have fallen about eight meters, or about 26.25 feet, into the sinkhole, fire officials said.

According to The Star, the woman was a tourist who was due to return home to India the next day. Police said a strong current beneath the site of the sinkhole hampered the operation.
