Saudi Arabian officials meet with the Vinicius Junior camp in London to continue contacts

Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior has had a tough start to the season after a summer in which he was linked with Saudi Arabia and panned by the Brazilian press following a disappointing Copa America. The hints of a departure for the 24-year-old continue.

Vinicius responded somehow against Villarreal, scoring a golazo to seal the victory two weekends ago. Following talks that Saudi Arabia was willing to make Vinicius the highest-paid player in history with a four-year contract worth €1 billion, Vinicius assured that he hoped to spend many years at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, the rumors persist, and OK Diario (via Sport) report that Saudi officials from the Public Investment Fund, which finances the four largest clubs in Saudi Arabia, recently met with Vinicius agents in London. Their intention was to continue contacts and make sure the Brazilian knew the offer was still on the table if he wanted it.

Naturally, Vinicius agents are obliged to listen to the offer, if nothing else. The chances of them convincing Los Blancos to part ways with him, and Vinicius to leave the club, appear slim. However, the Saudi play could be a longer one as they prepare for the 2034 World Cup, while Vinicius’ agents will be aware that with his 2027 deal, new contract talks are likely to take place next year, and the Saudi offer could be if ammunition are used in negotiations.
