Real Madrid In recent weeks, star player Vinicius Junior has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. While the deal seems unlikely to go through, rumours continue to circulate about how much money the footballer would be willing to spend on the Brazilian.
After talks over a contract worth more than €1 billion for Vinicius, MD quote El Chiringuito, who say that Saudi Arabia would be willing to spend €500 million to sign the superstar. There has been talk of Vinicius possibly considering an offer if it came – so far it has only been musings that have reached his camp – but Real Madrid will not do that. They will demand a €1 billion release clause from Vinicius before he is allowed to leave.
The situation could become more interesting next season, when Vinicius has only two years left on his contract, which is usually around the time that new contracts are discussed. As a cynic might point out, Saudi Arabia’s interest is a good leverage in any negotiation. And if Vinicius is not willing to extend with them, Los Blancos could consider an outrageous offer.
