TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – We have one more day of an onshore wind pattern that will bring additional moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. Temperatures will climb into the low to mid 90s, but it will feel like 105-108 again.
The chance of rain is relatively low for this time of year. A few showers start around midday near the coast and spread inland. In general, the chance of rain is 30%.
Tomorrow a cold front will arrive with a slightly higher chance of downpours. Storms will build towards the Gulf of Mexico as the cold front moves south in the evening. It will still be warm and humid with highs in the low to mid 90s.
Less humid air arrives Friday and will stick around for most of the weekend. The drier air will limit the chance of rain to just 10% or less. It will still be warm in the sun, but heat index values will remain below 100, which is the best you can get in August.
Humidity and the chance of rain will increase in the coming week.
Tropical Storm Ernesto is strengthening as it moves northward away from the Caribbean islands. It could become a major hurricane as it approaches Bermuda in the Atlantic Ocean.
