LIBERTY, NC (WGHP) — A Randolph County veteran will soon have a new roof over his head thanks to some generous donations.
5 star roofing and restoration and roofing manufacturer GAF worked together to give Vietnam veteran Ed Lohr a new roof at Liberty. Lohr served from 1969 to 1970.
“That’s a big expense,” Lohr said. “You know, I don’t know many people who don’t have to take out a loan or something to (get a new roof). I mean, it’s a blessing, and maybe I can help someone else down the road, you know? And I don’t think you can give people more than that. You know, the good Lord takes care of you.”
The donation is part of 5 Star Roofing and Restoration’s Roofs of honor program that provides roofs to local veterans in need.
