France went to the polls again on Sunday for the second round of parliamentary elections, with far-right nationalists poised to dominate.
Polling stations for the second round of the election opened at 8 a.m. (06:00 GMT) and results are expected in the evening.
The central question is whether Marine Le-PenThe Rassemblement National party and its allies won an absolute majority of 289 seats in the 577-seat National Assembly, the country’s lower house.
In the first round last weekend, the Rassemblement National emerged as the strongest party, ahead of a new left-wing alliance and the centrist camp of President Emmanuel Macron.
According to the latest opinion polls, Rassemblement National and its allies will win 175 to 215 seats, well short of an absolute majority.
