Permasteelisa has been selected by Multiplex to supply the cladding for the new Holborn Viaduct building in London, England, UK.
The 13-storey building, developed by Royal London Asset Management and designed by PLP Architecture, is aiming for a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating of ‘Outstanding’.
Liam Cummins, CEO of Permasteelisa Group, said: “Being chosen by Multiplex to deliver such a prominent project in the city underlines our capabilities as a leading façade specialist.
“We have delivered many projects in the capital over the years and this will be a fantastic addition to our portfolio.”
The façade, which covers an area of 15,500 m², is designed to minimise solar gain and maximise natural light, contributing to the building’s sustainability goals.
Permasteelisa’s design center in Italy is currently putting the finishing touches to the facade, which will then be assembled at the company’s production facility.
In addition, the building, which will be located close to St Paul’s Cathedral, will feature openable windows for natural ventilation and amenities to encourage an active lifestyle.
The building will include fitness, cycling and commuting facilities, with a dedicated entrance for the Wellness Wing at street level, adjacent to cycle path no. 6.
Nicola Calzolari, Managing Director of Permasteelisa Italy, said: “For Holborn Viaduct in Italy, we are designing a technologically advanced and bespoke façade that will help realise the potential of the project’s environmental benefits.
“Our colleagues in the UK will begin installation in late March next year, with an expected completion date of March 2026.”
In June this year, AXA appointed IM Alts Multiplex for the start of construction on the Fifty Fenchurch Street development in the city.
“Permasteelisa chosen for the facade of Holborn Viaduct in London” was originally created and published by Worldwide Construction Networka brand of GlobalData.
