Ford Bronco tries to run over a Dodge Durango police car waiting in line at Tim Horton’s drive-thru.

Wild scenes unfolded in Canada this week after an Ontario man was caught ramming and running over police cars with a ford Bronco in – take note – a Tim Hortons drive-thru lane.

According to CBC NewsPolice were called to Westwood Square in Mississauga (the city that borders Toronto) on Tuesday after someone recognized the 25-year-old Bronco driver as the same person who had allegedly stolen something from a nearby store a few weeks earlier. He was also reportedly in possession of weapons. When police arrived, the Bronco was at a Tim Hortons drive-thru and they also determined that the vehicle had been stolen, making this incident another intense chapter in the ongoing saga of car thefts in the Toronto area.

Several police cars surrounded the vehicle, and the driver attempted to flee, taking full advantage of the Bronco’s off-road capabilities.

Ford’s angular off-roader may be great on a pathbut driving over a whole Dodge Durango isn’t really his thing.

“Our officers managed to pin down the vehicle to prevent the driver from fleeing, but as you can see in the now viral videos, the driver desperately tries to break free — and at one point even climbs onto the front of one of the police cars,” officer Nikhil Chakravarthy said. CBC News.

According to witnesses, the Bronco driver then attempted to flee through the passenger window before an officer subdued him by firing a Taser. The man was reportedly charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime (theft), fleeing and obstructing a police officer (ramming officers) and dangerous operation of a vehicle (randomly standing in line for Tim Hortons coffee).

This level of aggression may seem unusual for Canada, but The driveToronto resident, this behavior is just the latest in what feels like a long line of chaotic behavior on the roads in these parts. In addition to a widespread theft problem, Toronto has some of the worst traffic in the world, ranked third in a recent list of cities with the slowest commutesAs many locals will tell you, “Toronto is an hour drive from Toronto.” This has led to a noticeable increase in road ragewith videos of fights And drawn knives has gone viral in recent months.

That said, the overall imagery of this incident is extremely Canadian. The Tims in the background, the red Bronco, the lack of police gunfire — there might as well have been a polar bear hanging out just out of frame.
