  • Ukraine has again attacked a Russian bridge in the Kursk region, following a suspected HIMARS attack.

  • Video footage shows both attacks. Some observers believe the latter was a JDAM-ER attack.

  • Since the invasion began last month, Ukraine has attacked several bridges in Russia’s Kursk region.

Video footage has emerged online showing two consecutive attacks on a bridge in Russia’s Kursk region.

The first attack on the bridge was believed to be a HIMARS attack, or High Mobility Rocket Artillery System. The second, according to open-source analysis And local reportingcould be the US-produced Joint Direct Attack Munition – Extended Range (JDAM-ER).

The images of the first attack on the Seym River bridge, near the village of Karyzh in Kursk, were published by the Khorne Groupa Ukrainian drone unit of the 116th Mechanized Brigade, on Telegram on Sunday.

It was then shared by open-source intelligence agencies on social media.

In the video, the Russian bridge is subjected to multiple successive attacks. The munitions appear to spread across the target area, hitting both the bridge and the water.

The camera then zooms in on the damaged section of the bridge, showing significant damage to the structure.

The next day, footage emerged on Telegram and later on other social media that appeared to show a follow-up attack with a different weapon.

Open-source intelligence reports identified the weapons used in this attack as US-supplied. JDAM-ERsThese weapons use kits to convert unguided bombs into precision strike options. These are air-launched weapons that have previously been used to hit bridges in Russia.

The video appears to show more extensive damage to the bridge, which appears to have a hole in it. However, it is still standing.

Business Insider was unable to independently verify the details of the strike footage, as online OSINT accounts had pinpointed the location of the strike to the Karyzh region of Kursk, but this is not the first time Ukraine attacks Russian bridges in Kursk.

Video footage from late last month shared by the Ukrainian Air Force showed a Soviet-era MiG-29 aircraft drop US GBU-62 JDAM-ER bombs on Kursk bridges.

The bombs resemble in some ways The Russian glide bombswho previously used it to destroy Ukrainian positions. These weapons were best known for their use in Russian offensive from Avdiivkawhere they helped Russia briefly gains air superiority.

It appears that Ukraine has targeted these bridges to disrupt Russian logistics and supply lines to the area. Moscow continues to move its forces to Kursk to counter the invasion of Kiev.
