WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Charges of assault on an officer and attempted assault on another were filed following a graduation party for the wife of a NATO pilot from Sheppard Air Force Base on Friday night, August 23.
Josephine Andersen, 26, has been released from jail on bail on the charges she faces.
Wichita Falls police responded to a disturbance on Liberty Court north of Missile Road around 11:30 p.m. Friday night.
The report states that a woman with blond hair was screaming and trying to enter a home she did not live in. Officers said they arrived to find a man pinning a woman to the ground before separating the two.
Man sentenced for April confrontation and fire on Star Avenue
The man was identified as the woman’s husband. According to police, it was difficult to understand him because he was heavily intoxicated.
He said his wife had gotten drunk at a party for him and his fellow NATO pilots, and she lost control, so he held her down. Witnesses said the woman had tried to start a fight before they arrived.
When police got information from witnesses, they said Andersen got up from the ground and approached an officer, saying something, then tried to punch him in the face. Police say they put her back on the ground and handcuffed her.
After she complained of chest pains, police helped her get on a stretcher to go to the hospital. They said she resisted and when an officer tried to put her legs into the ambulance, the woman sank her teeth into his arm and tried to bite him, then kicked him in the chest.
