Brazil’s Supreme Court said Elon Musk-owned social platform .3 million previously ordered by the court. Reuters reported on Friday.
X has been prohibited in Brazil since the end of August after a judge ruled that the social platform did not comply with orders with regard to limiting hate -sowing statements and naming a local legal representative.
Payment of the $1.9 million fine would allow X to “immediately return to its activities on national territory,” the country’s court said.
The social platform told The court said it had blocked nine accounts under investigation for hate speech, in line with orders to stop spreading disinformation, Reuters reported.
The judge ordered earlier this month that assets of X and Starlink pay the $3.3 million fine, and Reuters reported that X could challenge the $1.9 million fine.
Musk had labeled the orders “censorship” and called the judge a “dictator,” Reuters reported.
