More than 60,000 Czech households are without power after heavy storms, news agency CTK reported on Saturday, citing energy suppliers.
The northwestern administrative region of Usti nad Labem, bordering Germany, has been hit hardest. More than 20,000 households are temporarily experiencing power outages as trees have fallen onto power lines due to strong winds.
The Czech Republic and neighbouring Poland have been hit by heavy rainfall, causing water levels in many rivers and streams to rise and flooding to be reported in some areas.
In the eastern Czech village of Sirola Niva, about 40 people have been evacuated as a precaution.
The village of Visnova, about 50 kilometers south of Prague, could only be reached by a heavy fire truck because of the flooded roads.
Train traffic was also affected by the storms, with fallen trees blocking several tracks.
