German airline Lufthansa said on Monday that airlines from the Lufthansa Group will temporarily suspend night flights to and from Beirut due to the worsening conflict between the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia in Lebanon and the Israeli army.

“Due to current developments in the Middle East, Lufthansa Group airlines will suspend their night flights to and from Beirut (Lebanon) from June 29 to July 31,” the group said in response to a query from dpa.

Day flights to and from Beirut would continue to be offered unchanged, the report said.

The Foreign Ministry in Berlin has been warning Germans against traveling to Lebanon for some time due to the current conflict with Israel.

German citizens are urgently asked to leave the country.

“A further deterioration of the situation and an expansion of the conflict cannot be ruled out,” the Foreign Ministry said.
