Reto Buerer has been appointed team leader for Asia and Switzerland by Julius Baer.
He is based in Zurich and reports to Christian Capelli, Head of Asia-Switzerland for Julius Baer.
Reto brings over two decades of wealth management experience to the bank, with UHNW clients across multiple countries in Asia, as well as Australia and New Zealand. His extensive background in managing high-profile clients and leading high-performing teams positions the bank for growth in this important segment.
He also joins from UBS, where he was responsible for Southeast Asia reporting for Credit Suisse from Switzerland.
Effective September 1, 2024, Julius Baer has renamed its subsidiary Kuoni Mueller & Partner (KM&P) to Julius Baer Real Estate.
In the meantime, Julius Baer bought the last minority shares in the company, which are now fully owned by the Group.
To meet the need for real estate solutions as part of a comprehensive asset management strategy, Julius Baer acquired 83% of Zurich-based real estate services provider KM&P in October 2021.
In addition, Julius Baer announced that Thomas Hodel will become the new CEO of Julius Baer Real Estate effective February 1, 2025.
In this role, he will lead the company and strengthen its position as one of the leading providers of real estate services in Switzerland.
Hodel has extensive expertise at transaction and management level in the real estate brokerage sector, the core activity of Julius Baer Real Estate.
Dominik Weber, the company’s longtime CEO and former majority shareholder, will remain a member of the board of directors and an advisor to Julius Baer Real Estate after Hodel takes over the company.
