(CROWN) — Dr. Jane Goodall, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) and United Nations Messenger of Peace, attended the Dreamforce conference in San Francisco on Wednesday.

During her Dreamforce panel, which included Sandhguru and Mathew McConaughey, the acclaimed researcher announced plans to bring her youth action movement Roots & Shoots to San Francisco.
The youth action movement describes itself as a program that “inspires young people of all ages in nearly 70 countries to create positive change in their communities.” With support from Salesforce, the international youth action program will expand its “Basecamp” model to the Bay Area.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots to make San Francisco their newest base camp. We admire the community they’ve built and share their commitment to investing in the next generation and elevating the voices of youth,” said Becky Ferguson, senior vice president of philanthropy at Salesforce.
Roots & Shoots is part of JGI, which has supported Goodall’s work in 25 chapters around the world since 1977.

Goodall herself was a highly respected zoologist, anthropologist and animal behavior researcher who pioneered wildlife rehabilitation, habitat restoration and conservation efforts. She was especially known for her love of chimpanzees.
