Think your office is cool? Try Dynafit’s brand new home base in the Bavarian Alps. The recently opened facility, nicknamed the Speed Factoryis home to over 100 Dynafit employees, along with a gathering place for athletes to get involved and experience product development firsthand. Along with manufacturing space and a consumer store that offers an immersive brand experience, the building houses the Bivouac Bistro and a large product repair facility, both open to the public.

Visitors to the office can benefit from tailor-made services for mountain sports such as trail running, mountaineering and ski touring. That means everything from running and gait analysis to boot fitting and an in-house ski factory where you can actually build your own skis. Skimo nerds, rejoice!

The building itself is very impressive, and puts a new spin on the modern mountain aesthetic. Kiefersfelden is located far away in the southern corner of Germany along the Austrian border, right on the northern edge of the Alps, and the new building integrates and emphasizes the surrounding peaks. The design came to fruition after Dynafit submitted a request for an international design competition, won by Barcelona-based architects Barozzi Viega. The building’s futuristic-minimalist design soars over six stories to a height of 105 feet.

As a brand committed to sustainability, Dynafit went to great lengths to ensure their new home office reflected that dedication. From an innovative climate control concept, to a heat exchanger largely powered by the integrated solar array, to an advanced shading system, the 108,000-square-foot building is nearly entirely carbon neutral.

At the new headquarters, the Care and Repair Center will handle all repairs of Dynafit and partner brand equipment (including Salewa, Pomoca, Wild Country, La Munt and Evolv). This includes repairs of clothing, ski boots and bindings, as well as shoes, backpacks, tents and skins.
