Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has met a high-ranking Hamas delegation, including Khalil al-Hayya, in Doha after a trip to Qatar, according to footage broadcast by Iranian state media.
Pezeshkian was in Qatar for an Asia Cooperation Dialogue summit in the Gulf state.
The political leader of Hamas’s Doha office, Ismail Haniyeh, was assassinated during a visit to Tehran in late July. Iran has blamed Israel for his death.
Al-Hayya is described as deputy head of Hamas’s politburo.
