Iran has condemned the planned EU sanctions in response to the alleged delivery of ballistic missiles to Russia, in a social media post by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
“I have said clearly, and I repeat it again: we have NOT delivered ballistic missiles to Russia,” Araghchi wrote on
EU member states plan to impose the new sanctions on Monday. The punitive measures target companies and individuals involved in Iran’s ballistic missile program and the supply of these and other weapons to Russia. Sanctions will also be imposed on state-owned airline Iran Air.
According to Iran, it has strategic cooperation with Moscow, although this has nothing to do with the war in Ukraine. Tehran claims that providing military aid to warring parties is inhumane.
