INEOS Automotive has launched its Grenadier SUV in China.
The Grenadier’s arrival in China follows INEOS Automotive’s introduction in more than 40 countries worldwide, including Mexico last week.
At launch, the Grenadier will initially be available at four points of sale. Stores in Beijing and Chengdu have already opened, with locations in Shanghai and Guangzhou set to open within the next four weeks. In addition to a full brand and retail experience, these locations will also offer after-sales support to customers.
“Over the past 18 months, the Grenadier has had an incredibly positive reception in every market we’ve launched in, so we’re delighted to now be bringing it to China,” said Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive. “In a market bursting with new, locally-sourced electric and autonomous vehicles, we’re introducing something very different, very eye-catching, and bucking the trend. We’ve thought long and hard about this launch and have worked with a strong team on the ground to ensure we can hit the ground running. China has such great potential to become one of our best sales markets and I see this as a very exciting step.”
INEOS Automotive said it had spent two years planning the launch of the Grenadier in China, including setting up a national sales company and a team to work with local retail partners to “establish a solid foundation ahead of the start of sales”.
Following operations in other key regions – the UK, North America, South Africa, Australia and Europe – INEOS Automotive’s subsidiary in China is the first in Asia and is a significant new addition to the company’s global sales base.
