Against the backdrop of ongoing negotiations in Qatar over a ceasefire in the Gaza war, hundreds of hostage families and their supporters demonstrated in Tel Aviv for quick results.
Participants in the march through the center of the coastal city called on Israeli negotiators: “Don’t come home without a deal,” Israeli media reported Thursday evening.
The talks in the Qatari capital Doha aim to achieve a ceasefire and release 115 hostages held by Hamas.
Among those taking part in the negotiations in Qatar are CIA chief William Burns, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Egyptian intelligence official Abbas Kamel, as well as the head of Israel’s foreign intelligence agency Mossad, David Barnea.
Hamas is not participating, but the Palestinian militant organization is reportedly being kept constantly informed about the content of the talks, dpa has learned from sources.
