A Ferris wheel at a nearby festival Leipzig, Germanycaught fire on Saturday evening, injuring several people, according to reports.
More than two dozen people were injured in the firetwo serious ones, the European country’s taxpayer-funded broadcaster DW reported, citing police and the German Red Cross.
According to DW, most people suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation. Four police officers were among the injured.
Four people suffered burns and one person was injured in a fall, French news agency AFP reported.

“Those affected are being treated and are doing well under the circumstances,” the Highfield music festival said in a statement, according to Britain’s Sky News. “We are working closely with the fire service, police, rescue and medical services.”
Photos and videos showed flames rising and smoke coming from two of the Ferris wheel’s carriages.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.

German rapper Ski Aggu, who was performing when the fire broke out, took up the his Instagram He said he was shocked and dismayed by the fire and hoped everyone affected would get better soon.
“For me it was a priority that the situation did not escalate further, which fortunately worked,” he wrote in German. “Thank you for staying so calm and possibly preventing worse.”
According to Sky News, about 18 victims were taken to hospital. It was also reported that the shows continued for about an hour after the fire broke out, but the Ferris wheel remained closed.
