The Lebanese Hezbollah militia has again fired rockets into northern Israel, according to the Israeli army.

Air warning sirens sounded around the port city of Haifa and in Acre in the north, the army said, adding that five projectiles had been intercepted.

Israeli rescue service Magen David Adom said there was initially no information about casualties.

Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for several attacks on northern Israel.

According to military reports, the Israeli Air Force struck about 200 Hezbollah targets deep in Lebanon and the south of the country within 24 hours.

The Israeli army has significantly intensified its campaign against the Hezbollah militia since September. This includes massive airstrikes and a ground offensive in Lebanon. Residents have reported severe destruction in many towns.
