In Lebanon, the pro-Iranian Hezbollah said in a statement that it had fired a salvo of rockets into new areas in northern Israel in retaliation for an attack on Wadi al-Kfour that killed and wounded mostly Syrian civilians.

According to Hezbollah sources, the Ayelet and Hashahar areas were targeted for the first time today.

According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), 55 projectiles were fired.

“Following the sirens that sounded recently in the Ayelet HaShahar area of northern Israel, approximately 55 projectiles were identified that crossed from Lebanon, some of which landed in open areas,” the IDF said. No injuries were reported.

“As a result of the projectiles fired at Israel, several fires broke out in the area. The Israeli fire and rescue services are currently on the scene to extinguish the fires,” the Israeli military said.

Earlier, “an IDF soldier was seriously injured and another soldier was lightly injured this morning as a result of a projectile that crossed the border from Lebanon and landed in the Misgav Am area,” the IDF said.

The soldiers were taken to a hospital for medical treatment and their families have been notified, the IDF said.

An Israeli airstrike on an area in southern Lebanon killed 10 people, including two children, Lebanon’s Health Ministry and state media reported Saturday.
