The Palestinian militant Hamas movement has mourned the death of allied Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, holding Israel responsible for what it called the “heinous crime and its dangerous consequences” for regional stability.

The Islamist group renewed its “absolute solidarity” with Hezbollah in a statement after the pro-Iranian Lebanese movement confirmed the killing of Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike.

Yemen’s Iran-affiliated Houthi group also mourned Nasrallah’s death.

“The inevitable consequence is the victory and disappearance of the Israeli enemy and its temporary entity,” the Houthis’ political office added in a statement, according to the group’s mouthpiece TV al-Masirah.

Hezbollah, Hamas and Houthis are partners in a Tehran-led alliance known as the “Axis of Resistance,” which considers Israel an arch enemy.
