The Green Vault in the East German city of Dresden will soon put on display jewelry stolen from the original display cases in 2019.

Media representatives have been invited to the presentation on Tuesday at the Royal Palace Museum in Dresden.

The burglary at the famous Saxony museum on November 25, 2019 is considered one of the most spectacular art thefts in German history.

The attackers stole 21 pieces of precious jewelry kept in the palace, one of the oldest buildings in Dresden and home to one of the largest treasure collections in Europe.

They caused more than $1 million in damage when they set fire to an electrical box in Dresden’s historic city center and a getaway car in the underground parking garage of an apartment building to cover their tracks.

In May 2023, the Dresden district court sentenced five young men from the Berlin Remmo clan to several years in prison.

The conviction was preceded by an agreement between the parties involved in the trial, which meant that a large part of the loot would be returned. However, some of the most valuable objects are still missing.
