Range Rovers are great popular theft targetsnot least thanks to the high price tag they have. Looks like a bunch of thieves thought they were one of the luxury SUVs with ease, only to receive a beating from one grandmother inside.
Learn about Grandma’s secret stash of supercars.
On June 21, a mother stopped in front of a post office MelbourneAustralia to submit a passport application. The two thieves saw her running in and decided that they to take the Range Rover.
What they didn’t know was that it not only contained a feisty grandmother, but also her grandchild. Those motherly instincts kicked in and the 63-year-old grandmother punched the would-be thief in the face.
We really wish that CCTV footage captured both the blow and the look on the man’s face afterward. Instead, it just shows him run away. What seemed like an easy score became a quick ticket for pain.
Other grandparents and parents have fended off car thieves, including some armed, because a child or several children were in the car. That instinct to protect can be fierce and these petty criminals don’t really seem to understand that.
In this case, the would-be Range Rover thief made off with his buddy and getaway driver who was behind the wheel of a stolen Mazda pickup truck. According to 9Newshe listened to gangster rap and danced to it like he didn’t care about anything.
Police believe these two are part of a gang that steals cars around Melbourne and has committed a number of armed robberies and aggravated burglaries. In other words, they have used violence to take things from victims, so this grandmother may have been the only one to return the favor.
