Investigators from across Germany, as well as France and the Netherlands, launched raids against suspected ATM thieves on Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
Police raids on businesses and homes were carried out in several parts of Germany, and three men were arrested in the Netherlands as part of the operation.
The suspects allegedly blew up numerous ATMs, causing several million dollars in damage, according to investigators.
Explosive ATM robberies have become a recurring problem in Germany and other parts of Western Europe, with thieves blowing the machines apart to make off with the money inside.
In a number of cases, the German police investigating the cases have concentrated on organized crime groups operating from the Netherlands.
