Italian oil and gas company Eni has selected ABL, an energy and marine consultancy, to provide ship warranty inspection services.
The contract covers the offshore transport and installation works for Phase 2 of the Marine XII Congo LNG development project.
Phase 2 of the project includes the construction, transportation and installation of a new floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) vessel, as well as the conversion of a floating separation, storage and booster unit (FSU).
In addition, it includes the installation of drilling platforms, associated pipelines and related offshore facilities in the Republic of Congo.
ABL’s scope of work included a comprehensive technical review of project documentation, fleet suitability studies and on-site presence to supervise required works.
The company’s involvement is expected to begin in 2024, until offshore operations are completed.
ABL has been actively supporting phase 1 of the project since February 2023.
ABL’s French subsidiaries will take the lead in the company’s responsibility for this project.

In May of this year, ABL agreed to acquire Ross Offshore, a specialist energy consultancy currently owned by Moreeld Group.
This acquisition is expected to enhance ABL’s capabilities and facilitate the expansion of its services in the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors globally.
