ATLANTA – A Delta flight from Atlanta to Argentina was suddenly canceled on Monday.
Delta Flight 101 from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Buenos Aires, Argentina encountered problems during pre-flight checks.
“When a mechanical indication was detected prior to takeoff, the crew followed protocol to safely terminate the takeoff procedure,” a Delta spokesperson wrote in a statement to FOX 5 on Tuesday. “The aircraft departed the runway under its own power and parked on a taxiway where customers disembarked and were bussed back to the terminal.”
The Boeing 767-400ER had 233 passengers and 12 crew members on board. Take-off was scheduled for 22:40.
The flight was cancelled and customers were rescheduled for Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m.
The Atlanta-based airline said it was providing hotel accommodations and meal vouchers to those affected.
A Delta spokesperson apologized to passengers for the delay to their trip.
